USA/CANADA. Airport e-commerce app Grab has added Air Canada, its second major North American airline, to its platform. American Airlines joined the Grab platform in 2016.
Canada’s national carrier will integrate Grab with its mobile app, allowing travellers to order from the latter’s network of over 20 airport restaurants and retail partners. Grab operates across 24 airports in the USA and UK. The company is seeking to expand the network to other markets.
“We look forward to expanding into Canada through our partnership with Air Canada and our network of restaurant and retail partners,” said Grab Chief Executive Officer Mark Bergsrud.
“Grab remains committed to bringing efficient mobile commerce to the concession industry and is confident that a broad network and distribution partners like Air Canada is the path to e-commerce success for our partners. We are proud to partner with Air Canada, Canada’s largest airline and rated by Skytrax as Best Airline in North America.”
Air Canada Global Connection Product Director Ben Lipsey added: “Air Canada is pleased to work with an innovative partner like Grab, to implement a solution that will give our customers more choice than ever before when making meal decisions on the go.”
