Two consumer apps for ordering services at airports have caught the attention of loyalty e-commerce provider Collinson.
Inflyter and Grab will both receive undisclosed investment from Collinson as part of its strategy to support up-and-coming startups in the sector.
Neither company has received any significant funding rounds to-date.
U.S.-based Grab (not to be confused with GrabTaxi) is an airport service booking app.
It allows passengers to order food at retail outlets at airports in Europe and North America, plus includes integration with expense platforms such as Concur for business travelers.
Collinson says it hopes to create an incubator to support other startups operating in the same sphere of customer loyalty and service platforms.
Founder and chairman, Colin Evans, says: “The travel retail business is experiencing tremendous change as it comes to grips with the increasingly digital passenger behaviour and their rapidly changing demands, such as pre-ordering and personalised experiences.
“For both Inflyter and Grab, we offer the ability to continue to innovate as a scale-up, taking advantage of their size and nimbleness, and provide access to the support of a $1 billion turn-over business with close relationships with airlines, airports and financial services partners.”
