Connecting busy travelers with personalized dining and shopping options at major U.S airports, the Houston-based mobile app developer promises to revolutionize the travel experience
Grab, a new mobile app helping to modernize the airport experience, today announced the launch of mobile ordering service at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. The free app, which unlocks travelers’ access to airport dining and retail opportunities, initially will provide mobile ordering in Concourses D and T (servicing American, Delta, Spirit and United Airlines).
Grab will offer a total of 18 restaurants in Atlanta and 14 restaurants in Austin operated by Grab’s launch partner Delaware North. In addition to the launch of mobile ordering, Grab offers searchable directories of restaurants, retail stores and airport services in over 40 airports.
“Travelers today have an increasing range of airport services and amenities at their disposal,” Mark Bergsrud, CEO of Grab, and a long-time airline industry veteran, said. “Our app improves the airport travel experience, offering customizable options, in real time, thereby saving travelers’ precious time and providing the ability to easily find preferred dining options. We are particularly excited to be launching with Delaware North, a true industry leader with an impressive array of proprietary concepts, local favorites and well-known national brands.”
Grab revolutionizes the travel experience by delivering on-demand capabilities and convenience to busy travelers, airline crews and airside personnel. The app connects users to a wealth of restaurant and retail offerings and features both searchable directories and interactive maps to help customers discover what is available and make intuitive choices based on their path through the airport. Grab customers order from their mobile device, skip the lines and proceed to Grab pick-up locations where their items are waiting for them.
“Delaware North always has had one goal in our airports: provide our guests with the best, high-quality food in a timely fashion,” Kevin Kelly, president of Delaware North’s travel hospitality business, said. “Partnering with Grab allows us to add personalized convenience to the customer dining equation and offer air travelers what they want, how they want it, when they want it.”
Grab’s on-demand mobile ordering platform soon will be available at a growing number of airports worldwide providing frequent travelers the broad airport coverage and utility they demand. Airport terminal businesses, for their part, gain access to a much broader customer base via Grab’s turnkey, web-based platform.
